Search intent
Search intent is what someone wants to accomplish when they enter a search query.
What it means
A person might want to learn something, find a particular website, compare options, or make a purchase. These are often called informational, navigational, commercial, and transactional intent. Understanding the goal helps you choose the right content for a search.
Example
Someone searching “what is content marketing” needs an explanation. Someone searching “content marketing agency pricing” is likely comparing services and needs information about costs and what is included.
Keep in mind
One query can reflect more than one goal. Review the search results and what you know about your audience before deciding which type of page to create.
